We are a boutique publishing company with the mission to create universal and relatable stories with diverse characters for children of all ages, races and nationalities.

What are we going to do?

We are going to tell captivating stories, big and small, with more diverse characters so children of all shapes, sizes, skin-colours and backgrounds can see themselves in books, libraries, on tv and in movies.

Why Do We Exist?

Stories shape who we are and how we see ourselves. They influence our dreams and what we become.

The overwhelming majority of all children´s literature has white characters. They get to go on ordinary and extraordinary adventures, have pets, make friends and celebrate holidays. When the character is a person of color, the story is often about hair, history or it confirms racial stereotypes.

We want to change this reality, one story at a time.

How are we going to do it?

We are currently developing a slate of diverse childrens books, where we let little boys and girls of all kinds of families have the same exciting experiences their white counterparts have had for years.

Hightree Publishing will have good night books, books about pets, where's your nose, pilots, princesses and tooth fairies, everyday heroes and funny sidekicks. We will tell stories about astronauts, pilots, race car drivers, ghosts, writers and wonderers, captains and creators.

We will release all our books on paper and digitally with parents and children of the world as our market.

When are we doing it?

• We currently have 3 books finished.
• We have 8 books under production.
• We have in excess of 15 stories in development.

We want to release a consistent stream of quality content:

• Year 1: 5 books released
• Year 2: 7 books released
• Year 3: 8 books released

How are we structured?

• Hightree Publishing is is a one woman company, founded and run by Roda Ahmed. 
• Roda writes or co-writes all the stories currently in development. 
• Our illustrators are freelancers on work-for-hire agreements.
• We will hire publicists and other key personnel on freelance agreements as needed.
• Roda Ahmed and Hightree Publishing are represented by Margaret Riley King, at WME.
• Our offices are in Santa Monica, California
• Business management: WG&S Business Management, Los Angeles CA

What are we looking for?

We are looking to partner with a major publishing house to ensure wide distribution, fund the development and completion of current and future books, and provide infrastructure to realize the company's full potential.

We will bring high quality diverse content, we need your help to bring these stories to as many kids and parents as possible.

You will never love a book like you love a book as a child. 

It is urgent and it is important that we do everything we can to tell stories that will inspire and excite all children to make the most of their lives.
